Today’s Thoughts

I read so many blogs where people have sudden changes in their lives like job losses, illnesses and many other roadblocks, which keep them from losing weight or cause them to gain weight.

I have experienced some of these myself and have dropped the ball on my nutrition plan. But what I have recently formed as a habit is to allow myself a short amount of time to let my guard down and then resume my good eating habits and exercise as soon as possible.

I figured out that the last thing I need on my plate is a weight gain in addition to these life experiences. And that it is one thing that I can control in my life.

The last thing which I find ironic is that people in other countries and here are starving while I am paying WW to lose weight. That, in itself has motivated me to get busy and work harder at losing weight, and reaching my goal. Since the hub and I both have been eating fewer snack items, we have saved money at the grocery store. So I thought it would be a good idea to donate food to our local food pantry, where they have a great shortage this year.

Life changes throw a curveball, and you are right, picking back up again as soon as possible is key. I just changed jobs and am adjusting to a busier schedule, but I need to prioritize my workouts and roll with it.

Weird. I never even thought of it that way. But youre right. I have donated in the past and continue to do so now. And Cody and I donate to kids every year for Christmas. But its just so weird how we as Americans are all here and gaining from being too over-indulged with food, so we pay someone to help us lose. When there are MILLIONS of starving children, and people everywhere… Wow.

Thanks for this. This made me want to pay a little bit better attention to our grocery list and get my butt in gear!

Yeah, I like to donate to several places here locally–not much, but I figure it helps out.
Your right, for a lot of people this has been some kind of year. Usually, my taking care of myself is the first thing to fly out the window. However, I learning that this is the one area I have absolute control—your right.
    Have a great weekend girl.

You are right, the illness will pass but the weight will stay.

Some good thoughts. Good luck with WW, my daughter in law was very successful with it after she had her second child. She just had her third, and started back to lose the baby weight she put on.
